air meterSince the introduction of the new asbestos legislation was made it is more important than ever for companies to have an effective asbestos management plan in place.


AUK have a team of qualified asbestos surveyors who will ensure that you comply with all current asbestos regulations.


AUK carry out 3 different types of surveys:

 

  • Type 1 - Location and assessment asbestos survey (presumptive)

The purpose of a Type 1 Survey is to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any materials that are suspected to contain any traces of asbestos.

 

  • Type 2 - Standard sampling, identification and assessment asbestos survey (sampling)

This particular survey is similar to a Type 1 Survey, with the addition of samples of certain materials collected for analysis. The analysis will confirm whether or not the materials are ACM materials (Asbestos Containing Materials).

 

  • Type 3 - Fully intrusive asbestos survey (pre-demolition, major refurbishment)

The Type 3 survey is used to locate and provide a detailed description of all asbestos containing materials in a particular building prior to demolition or major alteration.

AUK offer a professional asbestos removal service with minimal disruption, to ensure that our clients achieve the peace of mind and legal certification they require. AUK are licensed by the Health and Safety executive to remove and dispose of asbestos.

The dangers of fibre release from asbestos are now well known. Clearly, there is a need to take safety measures to prevent it from occurring.


Under current Health & Safety Executive (HSE) regulations, if the asbestos is in good condition, then in place management is an option.


However many instances of in place asbestos are left unprotected. Good in place management procedures are inexpensive relative to removal and disposal. AUK offer an encapsulating service that maintains the asbestos in-situ by encapsulating it with high performance coatings.


Encapsulation prevents against movement (vibration), accidental knocks and age corrosion. In many instances this is a one time treatment.

AUK can commision the services of a UKAS accredited analytical firm to establish the presence and type of asbestos fibres within materials collected, using our (rapid response) asbestos sampling service.
